Here is a summary of the tests and technologies that we utilize:

Immunohistochemical stains: CPC has an extensive list of antibodies which our Pathologists utilize to differentiate and diagnose the wide variety of disease maladies we receive on a daily basis. These stains provide valuable information so that our Pathologists can provide definitive diagnoses for our clients.

 

Light Microscopy: This technique is most commonly used in conjunction with our immunohistochemistry and special stains for the differentiation and diagnosis of tissue related specimens.

 

Special stains: CPC has an extensive array of special stains which are also utilized by our Pathologists to differentiate and diagnose specific tissue samples. Many of these are used in conjunction with immunohistochemical stains to provide the most definitive diagnosis for our clients.

 

Laser Scanning Cytometry: A method of examining tissue and fluids for cutaneous lymphomas.

 

Thomas F. Mientus, M.D. Dr. Mientus has 14 years of experience in Anatomic Pathology with a special focus on GI Pathology. He is triple board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and cytopathology. He completed a cytopathology fellow program as a credentialing year at Rush University in Chicago where he also completed his pathology residency. He also served as chief pathology resident and has contributed to the molecular research literature while at Rush. Dr. Mientus obtained his medical degree from Rush Medical College.
David D. Wang, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Wang has over 15 years in Anatomic Pathologywith a special focus on Uropathology. He is triple board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and cytopathology. He completed his pathology residency training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago prior to coming to CPC where he has served over 10 years as Medical Director and Chairman. He completed his Ph.D. in Virology with a focus on molecular studies at the University of Chicago. He earned his medical degree at the National Defense Medical Center in Taipei.
Richard J. Clatch, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Clatch is the director of CPC's division of Hematopathology and a leading expert on immunophenotypic analysis of hematologic neoplasms. He is triple board certified in hematopathology, anatomic pathology and clinical pathology. He has over 14 years of experience in hematopathology and gastrointestinal pathology. Dr. Clatch completed his fellowship in Hematopathology at Barnes Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine where he also completed his pathology residency. He obtained his medical degree and Ph.D. in Neuroimmunology at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Clatch has contributed extensively to the hematopathology and general pathology literature and has co-authored authoritative hematopathology texts with special emphasis on immunophenotyping of hematologic neoplasms.
